I totally stole this from a friend's Facebook page. Oh well...
"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny, old attics; even if the dress in rags; even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't your father ever tell you that? Didn't he?"
-Sara Crewe, The Little Princess
(Warning! Soapbox alert!) This is kind of a big deal to me. I think it is so important that girls (and guys!) realize their true divine worth. It's an interesting thought because, number-wise, we're only one of billions. However, we are each special, important, and the world to the people around us and to our Heavenly Father. It is so important for our emotional and spiritual health to realize that we are special. I'm not talking about being full of yourself or prideful. I'm talking about realizing your self-worth, which leads to self-confidence and decreased self-criticism. This is so important for healthy relationships with family, significant others, pretty much everyone, and yourself. I want whoever is reading this to know that you are precious. You are special and loved. You have the ability and potential to make a positive contribution to someone else's life. You may not be perfect, but the quirks that make you YOU are important. You are lovely!
